Electrical Maintenance/Engineer

Wrexham Mineral Cables were established in 1989 and are the UKs only manufacturer of mineral insulated cables utilising continuous production technology at our purpose-built factory, and currently export to over 30 countries worldwide.

We are currently looking for an Electrical Maintenance / Engineer to join us at our facility in Wrexham.

Key Responsibilities:

You would be covering repairs and maintenance to the main cable production line, the cable extrusion lines, and cable coiling equipment.  Also covering the cable insulation production area and kilns, and associated equipment. To ensure maximum efficiency in all aspects utilising equipment, labour, and resources to the maximum benefit of the company. To ensure that all maintenance operations are carried out in accordance with agreed procedures and that they are Health and Safety complaints.

This is a brief description of the role, and you may be required to carry out other duties. This role would suit an electrically bias Maintenance Engineer and you would be expected to be part of the General maintenance team maintaining all areas of the factory.

Key Requirements:
Should be educated to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical Engineering. A relevant HNC qualification is also desirable.
Experienced with PLCs, drives and instrumentation.
A ‘Hands-on' individual, with a ‘can-do' approach to your work is essential.
Apprentice trained with proven track record within industry. 5 years’ time served minimum as you will be responsible for mentoring and training current apprentice.
Able to work alone using their own initiative, and as part of a team of Maintenance Engineers.
Prior knowledge of MICC preferable but not essential.
