Golden Bay Tower
About the project
The Golden Bay Tower in Qatar is a high-rise commercial block that features 16 floors above ground and 2 below. As with all high-rise buildings, evacuation times can be lengthened due to amount of people occupying that building at once and the format of building itself. During a fire, elevator systems will not run, meaning corridors and stair wells are the only way down/up.
MICC is installed into this building and others like it to allow for critical systems to continue to run during exceptional heat and fire spread. This means that emergency lighting will still be able to show the way for evacuation, sprinklers can continue and extraction fans within stairwells will allow the public to exit safely.
